120 MW Sediba Solar Plant Secures Supplier

Teraco has appointed JA Solar Technology as exclusive module supplier for the 120 MW Sediba Solar Plant.

The Sediba Solar Plant is in Parys, Free State, South Africa, and is owned by Teraco, which operates carrier-neutral, cloud-neutral, and producer-neutral data center campuses. JA Solar will supply high-efficiency n-type modules for the build.

Renewable electricity from the Solar Plant will be exported into the national grid and, through a wheeling arrangement with local municipalities and Eskom, the corresponding renewable energy output will be allocated to Teraco's data center operations.

Annual generation is expected to exceed 354,000 MWh, with commercial operation planned before the end of 2026. That projected output equates to an approximate 34% capacity factor for a 120 MW plant, and the supplier award resolves a critical equipment procurement step ahead of the scheduled start of operations.
